Cygnett Lavish iPad case

The Cygnett Lavish iPad case is an odd beast.  To look at, it’s somewhat stylish and if you’re wanting to protect your swishy little gadget, you want more than just a skin.

To start the case features protection for the front and rear of the iPad, with a magnetic clasp to keep it shut when Apple‘s baby is not in use.  The cover on the front is reinforced to help protect the screen from knocks, bumps and scratches and the interior’s micro-suede lined, to ensure the casing will never get a mark on it from day to day use and transportation.

Moshi Moshi 03i

In a some what odd twist, the Moshi Moshi 03i Bluetooth Speakerphone is a dual purposed iPhone/iPod touch dock. With its funky retro themed – minimalist styling and wireless handset, you’re sure to adore the look and feel of this gadget, regardless of whether your phone’s docked or not! Designed by French designer, David Turpin the 03i will sure to be a talking point of your desk.

So, what’s the point? Well, firstly it’s an ideal desk-top solution for docking your iPhone/iPod touch without having to rely on an overly bulky solution or having to use the somewhat lacklustre Apple solution that’s bundled with your device. Throw it in (not literally, obviously) and that’s it! You can then connect the phone to the base

Magicbox Tower iPod/iPhone Dock Review

A plethora of iPod docks are available now days, most of them stick to the usual black finish and more often than not, they also look very similar. The Magicbox Tower is something of a beauty, with its metalic finish (in this case, a cool blue) and funky design.

Integrated within the stunningly designed and well built dock, is a DAB/FM radio, speakers, an alarm clock and obviously, a slot to place your iPod/iPhone snugly. For around £70, this is seriously feature packed, so how does it sound?

Will tablets replace the traditional style laptop & desktop as we know it?

The average consumer thinks so, it seems. While a tablet’s not a new idea, the cramming of more and more powerful hardware into such a small formfactor allows the owner to do pretty much anything and everything that they would do on a traditional computer. However, lacking a keyboard and mouse, games suffer and let’s face it, you simply don’t get the precision needed via your finger, do you?

Whilst for me personally, a tablet would be a fantastic move but it’d never replace my PC.  How about you?  What do you think, would it replace your desktop/laptop?

Have Apple & Nintendo destroyed the gaming industry?

Well personally, I wouldn’t say so but EA‘s Trip Hawkins certainly has a bee in his bonnet with the two industry giants.  At GDC, Hawkins expressed his criticisim at the two companies infront of a panel, claiming that Apple lure in developers to create games, only for the dev to find that their application ‘gets lost’ in the thousands of others available.  Speaking of Nintendo, he went on to say that if it wasn’t for Ninty’s charging the developer (licensing agreements), the who practise of games production would still be an open one.  Now both Sony and MS follow suit, charging companies to develop for their systems and each of the big three insist that you purchase their ‘expensive developing kits’.
