Err. How does that work? :\

It says it will be compatible with old games. Does that mean that those games will look 3D? Or simply that it will play those games, but they will still look the way they used to?

I dunno, I find 3D graphics to be a bit tacky at times. Until I see it in action, I won't be very optimistic about it..

… Companies fannying about with products.

I.E Nintendo DS -> DS Lite -> DSi -> DSi XL

Why?? The DSi has only just been released and now they have released an XL version??

Im all for bigger screens, but if thats the point why did they shave 1mm of the screen when they made the DS Lite!!

….and now the 3ds or 3dsi!!! The graphics on the DS aren't worth putting into 3d anyway!! What a complete waste of money, research and time!

Not worth going 3D?  Check this, granted it's DSi but they're not "that" much more powerful than a bog standard DS..

It's a totally new system, it's not a waste of R&Dsmile

That's an actual game running on DSi hardware.  It uses the dual cameras to work pretty much as accelerometers.

I've no idea, I was just showcasing existing 3D technology.  Looks very impressive but it's not for me, until something more substantial hits.

I've seen some interesting stuff advertised for the DS but never found the need to buy one.

I play those on my OLD Phat DS! I dont need a lite, I dont need a DSi, I certainly dont need an XL.

There are no games on the market that cater only for any of the above. So why waste cash upgrading every few months!! Pointless.

…. and more to the point. If "ALL" Games will work with the previous incarnations then the 3d is going to be shizzz.

I'm assuming that game EripmaV posted is DSi only. I'm guessing Nintendo is going to start down a DSi-only route soon anyway. Not with major games, but you can pretty much guarantee there will be some good'uns.

But like I've said before, the PSP has some pretty interesting looking games. But I'm not going to buy one just for one or two games..

It does and that's what I said.  Minx just likes jumping on new technology until she takes the step herself;P

Say what you want about the various incarnations of the DS, but it's only a natural progression for a company to change its hardware.  It happens with phones, televisions etc etc.  Difference is, can you watch 1080P on your TV that you bought X years ago?  I can play my DS games that I have on my DSi and the same will be with the 3DS.

I'm still waiting to hear if Nintendo are using the nVidia Tegra chipset, if it is then woooo.  But then Minx will only say it's bobbins:P
