PROTOTYPE 2 LAUNCHED IN UK WITH THE WORLD’S FIRST OVER-18 LIVE AD

Sign of the times, cunning marketing ploy or just something that’s been badly needed in this gaming age?  More often than not games that are aimed at the more mature gamer suffer from adverts that are dumbed down and have been censored so harshly, it’s almost difficult to get a real idea of what the game’s all about.  Can we now expect to see more gaming adverts showing their explicit content, post-watershed?  I for one, hope so!

Bring on that X-Rated Mario ad, Nintendo.  You know you want to.

Game of Thrones – Release Date Announced

Some excitement for early-June of this year as Koch Media announces distribution of the title across console platforms and the PC for the UK and Ireland. The action RPG based on the best-selling novels by George R. R. Martin is set to add even more content to these books with the addition of a brand new story created with input from the author himself. You’ll have full control of your chosen character’s development including class, fighting style and developing a balance between your strengths and weaknesses. Interestingly this game will include political skills and I’m hoping this will lend a little more to the release than the usual “Speech” talents found in RPGs.

First Screens Of Disney Pixar’s Brave: The Video Game

The first screens are here and check out those ginger, flowing locks.  Disney Pixar’s Brave: the video game is looking rather good, but will it stand up to the film’s glorious visuals and story line?  Traditionally, games based on a film generally stink; sure there’s a good one here and there, but that’s literally it, they’re good.  Off the top of my head, in the last ten years I couldn’t tell you one movie based game that blew me away with its gameplay, graphics and styling.  Anyone care to correct me?

Sony’s Next Generation’s Codenamed Orbis & Set For 2013 Holidays?

Rumours, rumours, rumours.  Every day we hear a new rumour on hardware that Apple, Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo are working on, 3/4 of them you can totally disregard as pure bunkem.  Today’s subject in question?  The PlayStation 4.

Twitter and the internet are ablaze with, what at least seems to be, a codename; Orbis.  Could this be what Sony are working on next, readying for a late 2013 launch?  Spec wise, if true, Sony have ditched IBM and have switched to AMD for both the CPU and GPU and will be capable of outputting games at 4096×2160.  As that’s above and beyond existing home television HD spec, does this mean that they’ll also be pushing a Sony brand television that’s capable of such resolutions?  You can bet your arse it does.
